VR Sketching

Using Gravity Sketch Software

The Elective
In this course, I explored VR-based design using Gravity Sketch, developing 3D models directly in a virtual environment. The focus was on translating design principles into VR while maintaining a strong human-centered approach. The course existed of two individual assignments followed by a group project where we designed and finalized a vehicle using Blender.
Individual Assignment 1
The first assignment focused on defining chair forms using only their main outlines, ensuring clear 3D shape indication without surfacing. Each chair was designed around a mannequin, emphasizing human-centered proportions.

Individual Assignment 2
Building on the previous assignment, this project introduced surfacing techniques, creating a more refined and realistic shoe design. The design was developed around an ergonomically accurate foot model to ensure proper fit and comfort.

'Team Turtle'
The final assignment combined all previous skills, integrating shape indication, surfacing, and refinement. Our team designed an innovative, abstract vehicle inspired by nature— a hydrofoil boat with extreme proportions, reminiscent of a turtle. While the design was guided by human-centered principles and ergonomics, we embraced creative freedom to push the boundaries of conventional vehicle design.

The model was later refined using Blender, balancing conceptual exploration with added detail.
